We pull cats from overcrowded Los Angeles city shelters that would otherwise be euthanized due to overpopulation and illness. We also rescue cats and kittens directly off the streets to help reduce overcrowding in the shelters.
In the Los Angeles city shelter system, approximately 60% of adult cats and 90% of unweaned kittens are euthanized each year. In just one year, between 8,000-12,000 cats are killed in local shelters. Of those 8,000-12,000 cats, approximately 90% are adoptable or could be adoptable with veterinary care or behavioral treatment.
